Meet the Team

20 Bedford Way is proud to bring together talented individuals with experience, passion and dedication in its events team. Together they will ensure that you get the very best support in running outstanding events, conferences and meetings at our Central London venue.

MICHAEL WALKER

Head of Conferences and Catering

Michael has project managed big events for 20 Bedford Way for over 15 years. He now manages the 20 Bedford Way operation as Head of Conference and Catering. His role is pretty diverse and runs from some serious budgeting and forecasting to getting hands-on and moving tables around.

Understanding the need for any conference venue and events company to keep up with the latest developments, Michael ensures that 20 Bedford Way is ahead of the game and always innovating. His job is made more rewarding thanks to the daily interaction with the events team who he describes as “very dedicated and good at what they do.”

When not busy with 20 Bedford Way, Michael loves to travel to the Far East, read history and watch Fulham F.C.

SHARON FISHER

Conference Centre Manager

Sharon began her time at 20 Bedford Way as a lighting, sound, and audio-visual technician supporting events in the Logan and Jeffery Halls. 17 years later, she works as Conference Centre Manager, meeting with clients once their event has been confirmed to ensure that all requirements are met. She coordinates with the event organiser to discuss details and ensure that proceedings go without a hitch.

Sharon has a HND Diploma in Theatre Design, specialising in lighting design and production studies. She started off in a variety of roles across the theatre and live events industry including a freelance stage manager, lighting designer, and technician. Of all the great events she has been involved in, she loved working on the Magic Circle’s Centenary Celebration show that was hosted at Logan Hall in 2005.

Sharon enjoys Yoga as a way to restore and rebalance. She also enjoys trips to see family in Derbyshire, to the seaside in Brighton, and venturing further afield to holiday in her beloved South East Asia.

SARA CARELLA

External Events Officer

Sara started work with the 20 Bedford Way conference team after moving to London from her native Germany. She is the first point of contact for clients enquiring about conference and meeting spaces.

She has a genuine passion for events management and loves the buzz that surrounds the larger events that take place in Logan Hall. She organised workshops, training and seminars for employees from across the world as part of a management development role in Germany. Motivated by seeing clients and delegates happy after everything is over, she will make sure you find the right rooms and spaces to guarantee your event’s success.

Sara has studied in Granada, worked in Mexico City, and travelled Australia and Alaska. She loves going on adventurous trips and documenting her journeys with her camera.

DAN GRITZMAN

Senior Technician

Dan has been at 20 Bedford Way for nine years. You’ll find him carrying out early morning set-ups, running the technicals for live events and meetings as well as getting involved in pre-production for future shows.

Dan started off collecting cables in a rock ‘n’ roll ‘toilet venue’. Since these humble beginnings, he has worked his way on to tours and bigger venues, covering live recording, live engineering, studio recording/producing, lighting for theatres, installations and gigs. He worked as part of an award-winning lighting team for Shangri-La at Glastonbury 2011, creating an unforgettable experience for the audience.

A sense of humour and Irn Bru help him through his action-packed days. Outside of work, Dan has a passion for old cars, old watches, urban art as well as playing, making, producing, watching and listening to music.
